Yes, we have in house civil engineers, with our Operations Director a qualified civil engineer with up to 5 years’ experience in the construction industry, with knowledge garnered from some of Zimbabwe’s leading civil engineering contracting firms in the country. For the structural design aspect of any building, we have a network of reputable design consultants we work hand in hand with to provide the wholesome experience of having to look nowhere else but to Muvaki Contracting for all construction related needs. To do with architects, we have substantive long standing working relationships with many highly qualified architectural firms and individual architects, making us attractive to the client since we can select the firm with the best fit for the project needs.

Yes. We do the ground up residential properties building and are highly qualified to perform alterations and renovations.

Yes, we do. However, every project we undertake undergoes our in-house feasibility study. This is for the purposes of undertaking due diligence before execution of construction works. Fundamentally, every proposed project must be designed for; this includes structural and/or engineering designs, sometimes certainly entailing a site investigation for the purposes of determining the prevalent ground conditions of where the project is to be situated. Specialised structures like timber decked gazebos, basements and liquid retaining structures need to be designed for and detailed by a specialist before construction. Muvaki facilitates this end by employing our wide and well-connected network of design engineers to give a compliant, reliable and safe structure.

Yes. We can arrange a meeting with you and explain the steps and procedures for accomplishing your improvements. Budgets, plans, material schedules, etc. can be drawn up, peculiar to your project and intended outcome. We can take your concept from an idea to a solid finished project.

Do-it-yourself remodeling projects can be quite rewarding but are not free from their own challenges. We can offer consulting and/or select phase performance for a task that you may not want to tackle yourself.
Work and Permits

Depending on your project’s needs, a permit may or may not be required. When required, we will obtain the permit, handle all inspections, making sure everything is built to code, and that the project and process satisfies all statutory legislation.

Important materials are specified in the contract and all materials are covered. However, since substitutions are sometimes unavoidable (for example, types of bricks run out, colours of materials might sometimes be unavailable or due to the volatile economic situation, price escalations will most certainly impact negatively on set budgets), Muvaki makes it its mandate to find and suggest an equal substitution, the use of which will solely depend only upon your approval. For items such as lighting fixtures or doorknobs that you have not chosen when the contract is signed, a budget is determined in the contract to cover exactly what will be spent on them.

The budget and a reasonable time frame are stated in the contract, which is signed by all parties with copies provided before they start any project. If by chance the project does run late it is usually caused by two reasons; one, weather and two, materials deliveries. If it's not due to nature or outside forces, we do what we say, when we say.

The construction program furnished the client during initial planning and before construction commencement shall have clearly marked timelines and milestones. These highlighted dates and durations are closely tracked by our teams and weekly progress reports are tailgated to the client, along with progress photographs, to ensure that they are in the loop on what is happening onsite.

For the ones financing projects from outside the country, the Progress Supervisor, allocated by the client to supervise and keep track of the site undertakings is the one who will be in constant touch with Muvaki and will have access to site as and when they need and want to.

The Progress Supervisor is a person selected by the client who is outside the country, usually are a close relative or close friend, to oversee the overall undertakings by Muvaki Contracting in fulfilment of our contractual obligations. They serve as the eyes and ears on the ground of the financier and they help ascertain that we are coming good on our commitment to deliver a product of top quality, while sticking to our code of ethics and standard of practice.

Most clients (especially those building back home by financing projects from outside Zimbabwe) prefer handling the purchase and delivery of materials and in this case, Muvaki is there to facilitate the purchase by directing the client to the most economically viable option after due diligence is undertaken from the group of partners and suppliers on our Suppliers/Partners’ lists.

In instances where Muvaki handle the purchase, financing from the client is provided in advance for the instant purchase of the goods or Muvaki may procure the materials on behalf of the contract, to be reimbursed upon remeasuring the quantity used and cost calculated using the prevailing rate against the item in the bill.
